Have your dog painted on a mural at our adoption center!

When you adopt a dog, you form a bond that lasts a lifetime. We’re bringing that connection to life with a mural at our adoption center, celebrating the love between dogs and their families—while raising funds to rescue even more pups and create even more of these unforgettable bonds. And your dog could be featured!

Before families meet their new best friend, they’ll be welcomed by a mural full of hope, love, and second chances. The top three dogs will be highlighted in the mural, painted by local artist Nelsy Marcano, and selected from top photo submissions in this contest.

How it Works

  • Submit a photo of your beloved canine companion and give us a short story about how you met.
  • The top 3 pups, selected by votes, will be painted on the mural, becoming a permanent part of our adoption space.
  • Voting helps raise funds and lets supporters get involved!

    Each entry and vote is a tax-deductible contribution, making a real difference in the lives of the dogs at Lakeshore PAWS.

    Official Rules

    • To submit your dog into the contest, a minimum donation of $20 is required.
    • Dogs of all breeds may enter the contest, but we ask no people are in your submitted picture. Your dog does NOT have to be a Lakeshore PAWS Alum to be eligible.  One dog per entry.
    • The Submission Period begins at 6:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, September 5, 2025, and ends at 6:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, September 19, 2025.
    • The Voting Period begins at 6:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, September 19, 2025, and ends at 6:00:00 PM (Central Time) on Friday, October 3, 2025.
    • Once photos are entered, you grant Lakeshore PAWS the right to use them at their discretion for print and marketing purposes.
    • Every $1 donation counts as one vote (minimum of five votes, or $5)
    • All donations from entries and votes are non-refundable.
    • Photos should be clear and not heavily filtered. Any photo deemed offensive will be removed from the contest.

    Paws to Remember

    Want to make sure your dog is part of our mural? With a $100 donation, you can reserve one of only 20 custom paw prints to be painted directly into the design. Each paw print will feature your pet’s first and last name, creating a lasting tribute to your beloved companion. This is a beautiful way to honor your furry friend for years to come—and will be one of the very first things adopters see as they walk in to meet their future best friend.
